Interested grantmakers are invited to join the board members of Interfaith Funders on May
14-15 in Colorado for our spring meeting, which will feature a funder briefing on education
organizing, strategy sessions, site visits, relationship building, and training to be more effective
in our roles as funders of community organizing.
Our home base will be on the grounds of the beautiful Chautauqua Park in Boulder, nestled
against the Foothills.
We will convene in the late afternoon on Weds, May 14 for teambuilding and strategy
discussions.
On Thurs May 15, we will vanpool to participate in the "house meeting" (briefing) of the
Colorado Community/Philanthropic Community Organizing Collaboratives, which will focus on
the work of the Metro Organizations of People (an affiliate of the PICO National Network) and
Padres/Jovenes Unidos, followed by a debrief that will extend the focus to other regional
funder/organizer collaborations. Dinner will be at the exquisite Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse,
a landmark of the peace movement.
On Friday morning, we will have a training session followed by an afternoon site visit to extend
our understanding of congregation-based community organizing.
Please contact interfaithfunders (at) yahoo.com soon if you are interested in joining us.
Lodging at the Chautauqua is limited and filling up fast.
